Junior form students participated in the Mainland-Hong Kong Youth Ethnic (Yao Ethnic Group) Cultural Study Programme from December17 to 19 organized by the Center for Ethnic and Folk Literature and Art Development, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, PRC, China Ethnic Folk Culture and Arts Exchange Association (HK) Limited, and The Hong Kong Institute for Promotion of Chinese Culture, the initiative aimed to preserve Chinese cultural heritage through appreciating diverse ethnic artistic expressions and experiencing multicultural lifestyles.
During their stay in Shaoguan, students toured the Yao Ethnic Minority Museum, visited a secondary school, interacting with the students there and experiencing Yao embroidery techniques. Additionally, they visited Yao villages to learn about traditional Yao customs, interviewed village elders, and participated in making Yao medicinal sachets, returning with a wealth of new knowledge and experiences.
