Application for Admission to S2 to S5
Applicants who would like to apply for S2 to S5 places for the coming academic year are required, from mid-May every year, to submit a duly completed application form in person which can be obtained from our school or downloaded from our website together with the documents required and the entrance examination fee of $75.
Documents Required
- Recent photo of student (to be affixed to the form)
- Copy of student’s identity document
- Copies of student’s academic results in the past two years
- Copies of Attendance / Merit Certificates of extra-curricular activities (if applicable)
- Copies of other supporting documents
Selection Criteria
- Interview 30%
- Written test result (8% for Chinese, English, Mathematic respectively) 24% altogether
- The latest academic result of the current school 21%
- Conduct grade 15%
- Extra-curricular activities 10%
Subjects offered by our school (S4 to S6)
- Core Subjects：Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, Citizenship and Social Development
- Elective Subjects：Students can take 2 or 3 subjects
Choose 1 subject from each of the following four groups. Minimum 2 subjects, maximum 3 subjects.

- Two separate learning groups adopting Cantonese and English respectively as the medium of instruction are offered in Citizenship and Social Development, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History and Geography.
- Chinese Language will be taught in Putonghua
- Acceptance to take mathematics extension (M2) or not depends on the results in Mathematics.
Important Notes
- It is at our own discretion to arrange interviews and entrance examination for applicants. Shortlisted applicants will be notified of the interview date and time individually.
- Successful applicants will be notified of offer details by phone individually, while no further notice will be given to unsuccessful applicants.
- All papers collected are only used for processing the current application for admission, and the same will be fully destroyed once all relevant procedures have completed. No papers will be returned to applicants.

Information for S6 Repeater Places
Our school is offering limited places for S6 repeaters. Please submit the completed Application Form, together with the supporting documents and the application fee of $75 (payable either by cash or cheque made payable to "Hon Wah College Management Committee Limited") in person at our school during office hours.
Minimum Entrance Requirements
- Having attained Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in the current HKDSE, and
- 3 other subjects (including other core subjects and/or elective subjects) at Level 2
Other selection criteria
- S4, S5 & S6 academic results of the former school
- Conduct grade
- Performance in extra-curricular activities attended and services rendered

- Copies of student’s academic results (for the recent 2 years) and public examination result slip
- Photocopies of attendance / award certificates attained by student in extra-curricular activities (if applicable)
