The 2024 DSE results achieved remarkable and promising progress, with an overall 35% credit rate and a 91.5% passing rate, 54.2% of the students have met the university entrance requirements. Subjects achieving over 40% credit rate include History 75%, Mathematics (M2) 72.7%, Chinese Literature 66.7%, Chinese History 50%, Physics 48.5%, Chemistry 40.5% and Biology 40%. Subjects with 100% pass rate include Geography, Chinese History, Chinese Literature, Mathematics (M2); subjects with pass rate over 90% include Chinese 96.7%, BAFS 94.4%, History 93.8%, Economics 93.3%, Tourism Hospitality Studies 92.9%, Physics 90.9%, English 90.4%. For the core subject, Citizenship and Social Development, a result of 100% “Attained” was achieved. The passing rates in Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics, percentages of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language, together with percentage of Level 4 in English Language are all above the territory averages.
The best three students are ZHU ZIXUAN, who scored a total of 36 grade points in the best six subjects, with Level 5** in Mathematics, Level 5* in Chinese Language, Mathematics (M2), Biology and Physics, having been admitted to the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Programme, HKU; LAM YAT TSUN, who scored 34 grade points, with Level 5* in English Language, Mathematics, History and Physics, having been admitted to the BSc (Hons) Scheme in Medical Laboratory Science and Radiography Programme, Poly U ; and HUNG KA YI, who scored 32 grade points, with Level 5** in BAFS, Level 5* in both Chinese Language and Chemistry, having been admitted to the Integrated Bachelor of Business Administration Programme, CUHK.
In addition, CHENG TSZ CHING GRACE scored 31 grade points with Level 5* in English Language and Biology, and NG WAN YIU VIVIAN achieved Level 5** in Chinese Language and Chinese History.
