On Wednesday, October 14, all Form 5 students attended a lecture titled ‘A Century of Flight: The Evolution and Future Trends of Aviation Technology’, delivered by Professor Zhong Chengwen, Professor of Aeronautics at Northwestern Polytechnical University.
The lecture led the audience through a systematic review of the magnificent 120-year history of aviation technology, tracing how humanity step-by-step overcame technical bottlenecks such as gravity, the sound barrier, the thermal barrier, the blackout barrier, and the visual barrier in aviation exploration. It outlined the iterative evolution of aircraft from early models to modern ones, offering an in-depth interpretation of the core characteristics and key technological breakthroughs of each generation.
